About the event
WHO:
All evaluations (exam, screening echocardiogram with report provided) will be performed by board-certified veterinary cardiologist, Dr. Paulo Rivera, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology).
WHAT:
This clinic is open any breeding or non-breeding pet that is at risk or predisposed to heart disease (e.g. HCM, DCM, MMVD). An echocardiogram is the gold standard diagnostic tool to screen and diagnose heart disease and cardiomyopathy.
This clinic is NOT open to pets previously diagnosed with cardiac disease (congenital or acquired) or those on cardiac medications.
IMPORTANT: This clinic is not meant to establish care with Dr. Rivera, and is purely for screening purposes. If your pet is diagnosed with heart disease during the clinic, it will be recommended that a follow-up appointment be made with a cardiologist for complete cardiac evaluation and treatment. Cardiac Screening
Purchase one per pet, one at a time! Fee includes exam, echocardiogram and report. The OFA option is only for breeding animals that require official cardiac certification through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. This form is used to submit the animal’s cardiac exam and echocardiogram to OFA and is typically required by a breeder, breed club, registry, or CHIC program. Pets not intended for breeding generally do not need this option.
